Why doing countless crunches won’t give you abs?

We all want abs and I am all for it.
However doing endless crunches won’t give you abs and in-fact you may end up with a bad lower back pain.

Why so you may ask?

Abs exercises are metabolically not very challenging for your body as in it doesn’t stress your body to burn a lot of calories like a squat, bench press or deadlift types of compound exercise.

Moreover remember this you have abs and either it is covered by a layer of fat or they are just not thick and big enough to show up.

So if you have less body fat but still abs not showing up, in that case, you need to train the abs like any other muscle group and load them weekly once (yeah you read that right, just once as we will treat them like any other muscle group) and every day just do some light abs work like how I do. I just do 4 min ABS routine TABATA style. This keeps my abs stimulated all the time and conditioning just keeps getting better.

Now what if you are doing all mentioned above but not able to see abs. Then you have some fat accumulated which need to be burned off with as usual weight training a progressive calorie deficit each week.

Have faith in process and continue trying till you get there. Trust me, you will get there.
